For your day trips, we recommend the wonderful coastal town of Palinuro, which you can reach in about 30 minutes by car and which is located on a promontory, Capo Palinuro, famous for its scenic beauty and its caves, both underground and above ground. Don't miss out on a trip to Cala Jannita in Maratea, also known as spiaggia nera (the black beach), whose special feature is the dark colour of the sand. It takes about 45 minutes by car to get to Maratea, where there is also an interesting cave called Sciabella. For the art lovers among you, there is the famous temple site of Paestum in the very north of the beautiful Cilento, which boasts three of the most important Greek temple ruins.
